Site Inspection Nightmares? This Mortar Prevents Costly Failures?

Frustrated by cracks in your insulation layer?Tired of rework and client complaints just months after project completion?

Crack-resistant mortar is your game-changer—say goodbye to cracks and hello to durability and peace of mind!

✅ What Is Crack-Resistant Mortar?

Crack-resistant mortar is a flexible, anti-cracking material that forms a rough, adhesive surface after application. It prevents yellowing, peeling, or cracking and is safe, eco-friendly, and easy to apply. It is widely used on both interior and exterior walls.

✅ How to Apply It Correctly?

1. Surface Preparation

Clean the surface of dust, grease, or debris. For concrete, remove projections and adhesive remains. Lightly spray water to moisten the surface.

2. Apply Interface Agent or Scratch Coat

Apply 3-4mm of crack-resistant mortar along the joints of concrete and AAC blocks, embed 400mm-wide alkali-resistant mesh cloth, and smooth out.

3. Set Thickness Control Points

Use insulation mortar “pads” (20×20mm) to control layer thickness. Spacing should be ≤1.5m.

4. Layered Application of Insulation Mortar

  • Mixing ratio: Mortar: Water = 1:1 (by weight)

  • First layer ≤1.5cm, leave rough.

  • After initial set (with mesh), apply third layer ≤2cm.

  • Wait ~24 hours between layers; avoid repeated smearing at the same spot.

5. Mesh Installation

Press alkali-resistant fiberglass mesh into the mortar during surface finishing. Avoid wrinkles. Lap joints 30–50mm; corners 100mm mesh strips.

6. Inspection & Correction

Ensure flat, clean surfaces, sharp corners, correct thickness, and no delamination, hollowing, or cracks.

7. Cleaning & Curing

Clean fallen mortar, keep the environment dry and ventilated. No need to water-cure. After 7 days, you can proceed with the next construction step.

8. Usage Precautions

  • Mix as needed to avoid waste.

  • Ambient temp. >5℃.

  • Do not add any additives.

  • Clean tools immediately after use.

  • Store in dry, ventilated place, avoid moisture and sunlight.

Why Does Mortar Fail to Bond Well? Causes and Effective Solutions

In masonry construction, poor mortar bonding is a common pain point that leads to reduced wall strength, hollow joints, cracks, and even water leakage. So, why does mortar often fail to bond with bricks, and how can it be prevented? 1. Common Causes Low Mortar Strength Grade Using low-grade or pure cement mortar results in poor workability, making it hard to compact. This often causes voids in mortar joints, leading to insufficient bonding. Early Mortar Dehydration Bricks absorb water too quickly, causing the mortar to lose moisture and bond strength. Dust on the brick surface further reduces adhesion. Improper Construction Methods With the bedding method, if mortar is spread too long in advance, its water is absorbed prematurely, and bonding is lost. Excessive Joint Recession In fair-faced brickwork, workers sometimes leave large recessed joints (over 20mm) to skip joint finishing, reducing mortar fullness and increasing later jointing work. 2. Preventive Measur...
