The exterior wall putty is not strong, and customers complain repeatedly? How to solve the problem!

The solution to the problem of insufficient strength of exterior wall putty requires targeted measures based on the construction stage and severity. The core methods include water spraying maintenance and using penetrating primer to optimize the construction process. In severe cases, the problem needs to be removed and redone.

Water Spraying To Improve Strength

Since the main component of exterior wall putty is cement, it can be cured by spraying water or rolling to promote cement hydration reaction and enhance the overall strength of the putty layer.

Use A Clear Penetrating Primer

~Avoid using colored alkali-resistant sealing primers and use transparent penetrating primers instead, which have stronger penetration and can penetrate deep into the putty base to form a reinforcement layer.

~During construction, add appropriate amount of water to dilute the primer to enhance penetration and improve adhesion.

~Avoid direct sunlight during wall construction to prevent the primer from forming a film too quickly and affecting penetration.

Optimize Construction Process

‌~‌Control the thickness of the scraping: the single scraping should not exceed 1mm, and the application should be carried out in thin layers multiple times to avoid cracking due to excessive thickness causing dry surface and wet inside.

‌~‌Base treatment: For loose or high water absorption bases, first apply environmentally friendly wall solidifier or penetrating treatment agent to enhance the density of the base.

‌~‌Environmental control: Avoid construction in high temperature and high humidity environments, and ensure that the drying time of each layer is ≥ 4 hours.

Partial Or Complete Eradication And Redoing

~‌Local strength is insufficient: remove loose parts, clean and re-hang the mesh for repair, and use qualified cement mortar or special repair putty.

~‌Large area lack of strength‌: Remove all problematic putty layers, re-spray, hang mesh and standardize plastering to ensure that the base meets the construction standards.

~‌Note: If problems such as hollowing and peeling have occurred, it is difficult to cure them by relying solely on primer or maintenance. The problem layer must be completely removed and rework must be carried out in a standardized manner.

Why Does Mortar Fail to Bond Well? Causes and Effective Solutions

In masonry construction, poor mortar bonding is a common pain point that leads to reduced wall strength, hollow joints, cracks, and even water leakage. So, why does mortar often fail to bond with bricks, and how can it be prevented? 1. Common Causes Low Mortar Strength Grade Using low-grade or pure cement mortar results in poor workability, making it hard to compact. This often causes voids in mortar joints, leading to insufficient bonding. Early Mortar Dehydration Bricks absorb water too quickly, causing the mortar to lose moisture and bond strength. Dust on the brick surface further reduces adhesion. Improper Construction Methods With the bedding method, if mortar is spread too long in advance, its water is absorbed prematurely, and bonding is lost. Excessive Joint Recession In fair-faced brickwork, workers sometimes leave large recessed joints (over 20mm) to skip joint finishing, reducing mortar fullness and increasing later jointing work. 2. Preventive Measur...
